I am so excited to be a Sycamore Creek Elementary crocodile! Sycamore Creek is by far the most exciting school ever with exceptional students, parents and teachers! I feel very lucky to be the AG teacher and have the opportunity to be a part of the lives of some of the most capable students I have ever seen.
I am a North Carolinian, born in Rockingham, however I have mostly lived in Raleigh so I call it home! I retired after teaching for thirty-two years and especially enjoyed the last sixteen of those as an AG teacher in WCPSS. I went back to school and became an teacher of academically gifted students to be sure my sons were challenged and motivated when they were in elementary school. They are now wonderful men! Linc is thirty-two, Adam is thirty one, and Todd is twenty-nine and they have wonderfully productive, creative, and meaningful lives.
Life is very busy when you are partially retired! In addition to teaching at Sycamore, I am an artist and paint with oils on canvas. I usually paint architecture and landscapes but, have completed some commissioned portraits of children and even pets. I also love to travel and in 2008, went to England, San Miguel de Allende Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Santa Fe NM, New Orleans, all around the east coast. My favorite travel spot is always with my family to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Who knows where I will go in 2009! I also exercise and read lots! My favorite books are many kinds of non-fiction and historical fiction. On days when I am not doing any of these things, I usually can be found in my favorite antique shops!
